Children Don’t Just Hear Your Words—They Mirror Your Life…
What You Do Today Becomes Who They Are Tomorrow!
What are your children learning from you about living life?
It’s easy to look back on your growing up years and give your interpretation of what your parents did wrong in raising you. Without realizing it, you may even overlook the things your parents did well.
Often, there’s a disconnect between blaming your parents for what went wrong in your life and understanding and accepting responsibility for the role you play in the kind of adults/people your kids become.
In my book, Paerenting Your Kids with Purpose, I ask you to examine the way you “do life” & the life strategies you model to help you discover what your kids are learning from you about living life.

What Kind Of Adult Do You Dream Your Child Will Become—And Do Your Daily Actions Include:
- Making sure you instill values into their lives?
- Providing them with opportunities to learn & become independant?
- Making sure they have good friends?
- Becoming problem solvers & figuring things out on their own?
Let’s take it a step further and answer the question: What are your kids learning when your words don’t match your actions?
Parenting Your Kids with Purpose deals with 9 areas that are important for your kids to experience and internalize and that happening is influenced by what they see you do in these areas:
- confidence
- communication
- discipline/self-discipline
- decision-making
- handling disappointments
- developing gratitude
- healthy relationships
- consistency
- faith & core values
As a parent who’s raised 5 kids, there’s certainly things I look back on and wished I had done differently. And as a grandparent influencing 17 grandkids, I can now influence and impact them with a better understanding of how important it is that what I say is aligned with what they see me do.
And although I can’t go back and change things with my kids, I can share the wisdom and truths I learned from walking where you’ve maybe not yet been.
I challenge you to get the book, read it, and then reach out and let’s chat about what you’ve discovered and in what other ways I can offer support for you as you live out one of the most important jobs you will ever have….influencing & impacting your children toward the best version of themselves they can be!

Parenting Your Kids with Purpose
Who is Susie Meals & How Can She Help You?
Do you look into your child’s/children’s future and wonder how they are going to make it in the world? You want them to be successful, independent and happy….but how do you ensure that these things happen?
The truth is…it all starts with you!
As an educator in the Whitesboro Public Schools for 21 year, I’ve seen amazing parents go through difficult times with raising their kids; and I’ve seen how the “what’s modeled is learned” way of life plays out positively & negatively.
And as a mother of 5, I can tell you that I certainly had my fair share of challenges along the way.
There were times when doing the hard things weren’t fun and I thought maybe I should let go and do the easy thing for my kids….but then when I stopped and thought about how that would impact their lives, I couldn’t choose the easy thing.
Parenting is not just about wanting to have kids for all the fun reasons….it’s about making a commitment to get them through the difficult growing up years and into adulthood while helping them discover the best way to “do life” by what they see in you!
That means they need to hear you speaking to them in ways that evoke communicating their needs, resolving conflicts and living their core values.
It means they need to see you being consistent & confident in your choices and what it means and looks like to have good decision making habits, exercise self-discipline, develop healthy relationships, live with an attitude of gratitude and live your core values in all areas.
Parenting is rooted in action; it’s about what you model, not just what you say. Your words guide your children, but it’s your choices and behaviors that leave a lasting impression. To effectively shape the adults your kids will become, start by reflecting on your own actions. When your behaviors align with your teachings, you create a powerful framework for your children to internalize and thrive.
In my book, Parenting Your Kids with Purpose, I help you recognize behaviors and actions in your life that you may not want your children to develop and also help you become aware of your behaviors and actions you do want them to develop.
I give you guidance on why making these necessary changes is crucial and offer practical strategies for transforming your behaviors and actions to more powerfully impact your children’s lives.
